An eBike is a regular bicycle with battery powered motor that provides an extra boost of power to the rider as they pedal. Riding an eBike is just like riding a regular bike but better, especially when riding up hills, and against headwinds. We love that it takes some of the strain out of biking, while offering all of the fun of riding a bicycle.

Most of our customers feel that the amazing convenience of our delivery program saves time and takes all of the stress out of the rental process. We believe that there is nothing worse than competing for parking spots and worrying about parking meters and tickets. For this reason, we deliver directly to your Hotel, Inn, Cottage or Business and create a custom experience for each guest.

As you enjoy the coastal scenery on the Monterey Peninsula, please be advised that your mileage/battery life will depend on you. Be aware that rider weight, rider style and fitness level are some of the determining factors for the range of the battery life. Since there are 5 levels of pedal assist ranging from Eco to Speed and a battery power indicator we recommend that you leave a little in the tank for the ride home. Most riders experience a 30-40 mile range (48-64km) in most cases.

The eBikes which comprise our fleet are designed to suit riders from 5’2”- 6’2” comfortably. At Coastal eBike Connection we don’t like to use the words, “weight-restrictions” however, every bike has its limits and rider satisfaction is a top concern. For this reason we provide bikes with carrying capacity ranging from 275 to 350 lbs including the weight of the rider. This is a recommendation as battery range will decrease significantly for heavier riders. Please note that all riders must present photo identification and all riders must be 18 or over.

The Monterey Peninsula, with its geography and its terrain has several tremendously diverse micro-climates and for this reason we recommend layering up when it comes to attire. Loose fitting comfortable athletic wear is a great idea. We will provide a backpack, helmet and lock. Bottled water will be made available.
